Creating Portfolio Accounts with XPLAN

For those Users who are new to, or who don’t have a lot of experience with the IPS (portfolio) module, you may not be aware that you can manually create portfolio accounts.

The ability to create portfolio accounts can be useful for those investments that do not have datafeeds available, and for those users who just prefer to manually enter their client portfolio data.

To create a portfolio account, select the client you wish to create the account for, then select Portfolio > Admin > Cash & Accounts.

You will see in the image below, there are five accounts in this clients’ portfolio.

To create a new account, select Add Portfolio Account. You will be taken to the Basic Details screen to enter the account details.

You will then be required to enter the Portfolio Account details.

Fields that should be completed at a minimum, include:

Tip: This is the name of the Portfolio Account that appears in the Portfolio position screen (see image below)

Include in Corporate Actions: This will determine whether you can execute corporate actions for this account.

It can also be helpful to other users to select an Account Type and Status.
