Creating Widgets with XPLAN
Widgets could be described as a feature that provides shortcuts or reporting information, and can be easily accessed and customised from your Dashboard.
There are some great Widgets that can be extremely helpful depending on the role you hold in your organisation.
For example, all users would find it helpful to show the Widget for all tasks assigned to them – assuming you use Tasks as part of your workflow management. This means once you log in, all of your tasks could be displayed on your dashboard for easy reference and access.
Likewise, managers or advisors who are frequently assigning tasks to other team members, may also like to display a record of tasks they have assigned to others, so they can easily monitor them.
The Recent Clients Widget can also be of benefit, as a lot of users find that once they are entering or editing data for a client, they are returning to that client several times over the coming days and weeks; this provides a useful shortcut.
For those monitoring or managing System Datafeeds, you may also find it helpful to have that snap shot each day of how many accounts are unmapped, or how many are out of balance.
These are just a few of the fantastic Widget options that are available.
To create a Widget, from the dashboard, select Main > Add Widget.

Select the Widget you wish to add to the Dashboard.

To edit or remove Widgets, select the icon as indicated in the image below, then select Edit or Delete.
Editing will give you some flexibility with how your Widget is displayed e.g. how many recent clients are displayed, and which of their personal details are displayed.

Users can edit and customise their Widgets to suit their personal preferences, based around the areas of Xplan that will most effectively assist them in managing their workflow and processes. Take the time to explore the Widgets that are available; there is bound to be a helpful shortcut, or reporting mechanism that can save you time while providing you with meaningful information.
